The dip tube minimizes the amount of material required to get good coverage on the stick. This dip tube is made with a piece of metal drain tube mounted in a plaster (pour stone) base.
These are my custom made stick hangers (a piece of wire). They will need to hang for a while with something below to catch drips.
As you can see the stuff will drip. butter dishes below or paper or something will preserve the natural beauty of your work bench. Ok, it will keep the stains down to a dull roar.
